Somehow, I am missing the bottom part of the seat in my Eduard 1:48 IL-2M Sturmovik Kit. It looks like it’s been cut out, but I know it wasn’t me. Is there any way to order spare parts for these kits? This has me depressed… It’s such a nice looking kit to get stuck so soon.
Go to their website http://www.eduard.cz/ and hit the contact link - tell them what you need. Parts can be just a little slow (mostly cause they are overseas) but they have helped me out before.
Thanks, Swanny. I’ll try that if it’s worked for you. I looked all over their site for a place to order parts.
I hate to be a wet blanket, but the owner of thee Military Shop recently told me that Eduard has issued a statement to shop owners that they would no longer take requests from individual customers- that only dealers could make such requests. Sounds pretty dumb to me- and I have had no reply at all in the weeks since I asked for a few replacement etch parts for the lost bomb rack in my Helldiver. Customer service is one of the aspects of the industry that can set one company ahead of another- I’m sorry to see Eduard going down this “I don’t care about my clients” path. [sigh]
Try your LHS- maybe they can help you.
Well that is a real let-down. You are correct that service is what sets companies apart from their competition.
I hope that isn’t the case. I emailed them, but have not received a reply. I’ll give it a few days and let ya’ll know. I’m gonna be so upset to have so much cockpit detail and no seat part… they are such cool kits.
Y’all aren’t going to believe this, but I received a package today from the Czech Republic by Eduard Models. I not only got my bottom part of the seat I was missing, but the four sprue trees that come in the same plastic package. They include the upper and lower wings halves, the tree with the fuselage halves, and sprue with the tail-wheel.
You were right, Swanny. They are a tad slow, but they got me the parts. I only sent the one email. I never hounded them. I figured it was a lost cause, but I was wrong.
If anyone needs parts from those other sprues, I’d be more than happy to help out.
Sorry I missed this earlier! That is great news.
I recently purchased a 1/48 Eduard Albatros D.II, and the decals were badly out of register. I emailed Eduard, and they sent me a replacement sheet. Took a little while to get here, but arrived unscathed. Looks like Eduard is continuing to take care of their customers! [tup]
I’ll have to eat my words, because the other day I received a small package forn Eduard containing the fret with the bomb rack parts I’d requested. I had stated that I’d bonheadedly lost them, too. Even though it was no fault of theirs they generously came through.
Glad to hear you had a happy ending also, chukw. I’m looking forward to building my Sturmovik now.
