Greetings!
I just received my first Russian a/c kit and while the external colors are quite clear the interior cockpit color is not. I believe it is some shade of green but not at all sure. Could someone let me know what color I should use for this project.
Thanks
Steve
The interior colors of WWII Russian cockpits is the subject of debate, but several references show them in Grey, similar to RLM02, but with a slightly less greenish hue.

the Ilyushin Il-2 Shturmovik cockpit was made from cold-rolled STEEL armor plate between 6 MM and 13 MM thick.
therefore you have three choices :
IMUP = Industrial Metal Use Primer --a pale blue-green
A-14 Primer – medium Grey
ALG-5 Primer --pale green
in the case of ALG-5 it was actually for Aluminum but also found it’s way onto mostly wooden cockpits of Yak-3’s and La-7’s.
to see these colors go here :

a line of these paints (pre-mixed) is made by White Ensign Models.(petroleum-based)
p.s. Eduard’s recommendations for color and camoflage are NOT correct ; don’t follow them!
