Here’s my Eduard Profi-Pack Curtiss P-40N in RNZAF colors - Gloria is OOB - and if you haven’t had the opportunity to get your hands on one of these kits, give it a go - it’s really a fantastic kit. Great details, great fit…it sure was an enjoyable build.
For some reason I decided to go with one of the OOB marking schemes - even though I’ve got another 3 aftermarket sets for the P-40N…go figure. I’ll just have to get another few kits, that’s all.
Well, here she is - hope you like her.
The gun barrels were drilled…thank goodness for Opti-Visors…
And before anyone tells me, yes, I realise that after I took these pics I have neglected to install the landing light and the formation lights…LOL…maybe one day!

Leetree - Beautiful work. The finish is just great… appears to be exceptionally smooth. I like the dull sheen it has. The white bits turned out great too.

A couple of things I noticed, if you have any P-51 wheels in the spares box you could use those on future “N” models. This model used a spoked wheel like the P-51.
Your guns look like 30mm units. A half inch hole in 48th scale is only .010 or so, IIRC. A #80 twist drill is .014, which is the closest I’ve found and the smallest I care to try to use. And, yes, thank goodness for optivisors!
Maybe you could help me with something. I love your canopy work. Very clean frames and paint lines. Any advice on how to get such a fantastic result?

What a neat paint shceme, too. Even for OOB. Which paints did you use for the exterior colors? One can never get tired of P-40’s. I appreciate your comments on the kit, too. Someday I will buy the Eduard N offering.
Great job. Just built that kit myself a couple of months ago. Nice to see it in RNZAF scheme and I like the detail on the guns.

I’ve had my eye on the Eduard P-39 Profi-pack for a while now. Are these high quality kits or will there be a lot of work to make it into a good build?

The Paint is Model Master O.D…lightened a little - then after all the decals were applied, I sprayed thinner with a couple of drops of tan to dull things down - then an oil wash.
The canopy was done using my favorite method - dip the canopy in Future, allow to dry (I give it a week - no reason - I just do) and then Bare Metal Foil and a new #11 blade. Works every time.
Did I put the wrong wheels on Gloria? Oops…and I even have a set of those correct wheels (in resin) in the Mauve P-40N box that’s waiting to be built!
