Anyone know if there is a kit of an EC135 helicopter?
My brother flies with a Life Flight and I’d like to build this for him.

I see them all the time on ebay. I think it’s by Revell/Germany. Don’t knoe the scale. Sorry I can’t be of more help, but at least you know there’s one out there…
Hello Mike,
Bubbamoosecat is right. Revell makes an EC135. Actuallly two: 1:72 and 1:32. The 1:72 would make a good candidate for “The Worst Fitting Kit Ever-Contest”, but the 1:32 is not too bad. Don’t forget to put some weight in the nose of the helo; it’s a bit tail-heavy.
Good luck, Gertjan
(by the way: anybody knows how to get rid of the “snap-together” nonsense that I get next to my post? I’ve never said that![:(!])
Thanks Gertjan,
My local hobbyshop ordered me the Revell (all three versions, the ACAD, Military and Polizei) I picked up the ACAD variant and have taken the first round of reference photos for the build. My only problem will be the decals for his hospital and flight name. They are white on dark blue.
I look forward to the build and it looks pretty involved.

I am currently struggling through the 1/72 kit. I had thought it would make a nice, simple diversion. I was well wrong, this is not a kit for beginners. I hope I have enough filler, and even at that, my canopy’s going to be a bit odd.
I would not recommend it as a casual kit, the only thing going for it is it’s an EC-135, and if you want to make a model of a specific chopper (In my case, an Irish GASU version), it’s the only game in town.

A couple of cubic centimeters of filler later, I thought I had better expand on my last comment.
I do not believe there is an adjective in the English language to correctly describe the horrendous fit (or lack thereof) on this model. But to give you an idea, this is what’s wrong with it:
The nose is wrong. The front canopy is wrong. The side canopy is wrong. The front roof is wrong. The cabin is wrong. The exhausts are wrong. The rear roof is wrong. The tail boom is wrong. The skids are wrong.
OK, the skids aren’t bad, but they’re the wrong type for my subject!

The 1/32 kit isn’t much better. I’ve been struggling with this thing on and off since I picked it up last year. I will work on a bit then set it aside to work on other things. I’m still trying to figure out how to fashion a proper nose to match the version that my brothers helicopter has.
I endeavor to percivere.[:)]
