eastern express BT-7 oob (pics)

hello guys, heres another one off the bench and on to the shelf, not much to this build really, the lower hull was a tad fiddly but nothing terrible, went for a straight green muddied up nothing fancy easy build [:)] thanks for looking and all comments are welcome as always.

Extremely well done. I love the weathering. SteveM

Definately a nice job on the weathering.I’d swear the thing was made of metal.

Christie would be proud! Nice work Ron, were the kit tracks one piece vinyls or indys? The early war Russian gear has some fascination for me and this might be one that I’d be looking to acquire in the future.

[tup] Super Job!
What a pro!
Never a dissappointment.
And (of course) I love the chains…

(I think you are really running
a chinese sweatshop in your basement. [(-D])

Steve

hey guys, your comments are much appreciated, thank you.

hi bill, the tracks were link and length and at first sight i was not impressed at all but after a bit (lot) of clean up they were actually not too bad looking imho then add a little mud and rust and i was quite happy in the end.

steve hehe do i have to bring bahgdad bob in here again to assure you “there is no tank factory in my basement” [(-D]

another great one,biffa!!-[:D]- 2 questions–what green did you use and,if the tank factory is not in your basement, where did you move it to?[?]— also as far as the chains go, i have an old book with a pic of a BT-7-1(V) commanders tank with the chains in place just like on your mod-- super job as always!!—tread[:P]

Geez biffa, do you ever get sleep? [;)] I can hardly get a build done in 3 months. As always, your builds are a treat for the eyes. I’m always on the lookout to see what is coming up from the tank factory. Great wheatering and finish! [tup] Top notch! I hope to have your painting skills one day.

Ron, another superb weathering job. Really like the dirty look. Glad to hear that the build wasn’t too bad, there aren’t many options out there for a BT-7. I was hoping one of the big boys would come out with one with the works. I guess I’ll have to wait.

It may be me, but the lens covers look green. Sorry if I’m color-blind. [;)]

Great job! I would like to know which green you used also.

Awesome build! Great weathering. I hope to have one third your talent one day.

Thanks for the pics.

Ron

thanks chaps, the green used was orginally mm acrylic “dark green” but it as under gone a couple of filters and washes since then so it has changed quite a bit,

Eric fear not your eyes are fine i had a couple of run ins with the headlights first i wanted them dirty and they looked odd so then i tried clean and they looked odd so they ended up kind of mixed and didnt look to bad by the nakid eye but the camera doesnt cut anyone any slack so i am redoing them, i would’nt mind if anyone has any good tricks on headlights to pass them on, only on a couple of accasions do i seem to come across these things being so obvious and they are a weak spot for me. [:)]

Don’t feel bad Ron, I really don’t know anything that you don’t. I was wondering about chrome with a coat of Future? I mean in a real headlight, you have a chrome back with the bulb and clear glass. Just a thought.

Beautiful job with everything! Looks great! I was thinking of picking that kit up and giving it a try. Hopefully it will go together better than my $100+ Accurate Armour resin kit!

Agree with tigerman, paint the silver/chrome background, then put a drop of Future in it and let it dry, keep repeating until you’ve got the desired thickness built up. Takes some fine tuning but does produce the desired effect with some patience.

thanks for the feedback guys i have a couple of ways to try now, i have updated the image with a new one of the new improved headlights all is needed now is a tad more blending and im happy, here is the new lights what are your opinions?

They look great Ron, what did you do?

O.K. man-- here goes-- you already know i love the way you build and paint[:D]-- soooo–in the first set of photos you have a dirty tank with dirty lenses-- now you have the same beautifully dirty tank with the newer (absolutley beautifully restored)lenses-- they kinda don’t match —although the clean lenses look better 'cause thats how your brain wants glass to look, i personally think the dirty version is more accurate-- either way an outstanding build[wow][tup]!!-- tread[:P]
