Guys
I have here the DML Panther A early kit and I fancy building it without Zimmerit. As far as I am aware some of the very early A’s were built this way, does anyone know of an online source of pictures of these panthers?
TIA

Here’s a sight.http://www.linux-penguin.org/achtungpanzer/gallery/ptgal.htm
Here’s some pics.
A Panzer V D1(Ausf. A)
Here’s and Ausf. A. Can’t tell if there is zimmerett though.
Hope this helps.[:D]
The top Panther is actually an Ausf D… You can tell that by the smoke dischargers and the early style copula… The second pic is an Ausf A…
But the thing you have to remember, when the Panthers were produced, the AusfD was first, followed by the Ausf A, and then the AusfG… Many early Ds didn’t have zimmerit.
It has pretty much be proven that all Ausf As had zimmerit…
On a side note, the Panther in the museum pics was totally restored WITHOUT the zimmerit… it originally had zimmerit at one time…
Harry is correct, if you are building an early A, you should probably plan on zim. The sample tank in the instruction sheet does not have it. Here is the same kit with Eduard PE zim:
