Dullcote trouble

After finishing a model, I sprayed it with testors dullcote (the stuff in the aerosol can) and something weird happened. Everywhere where there is a sharp angle, the paint bubbled, and on some of the vertical surfaces, the paint ran. It was painted with Tamiya Acrylics and coated in future.

Possibly applied it too thick. It is best applied in thin coats.

Robert’s right . Make sure your paint is cured . Especially with acrylics apply the Dullcote in VERY light
coats. Learned the hard way too.

Well, you’d think that 2 months would be enough time for curing but I guess I’ll just sand and re-paint.

Another Dull question for ya…
I have only used the testors dullcote in aerosol cans. I didn’t knwo if there are any other brands or products that could be recommended?
Thanks for any feedback,
Mark

I’ve been dissapointed with the results I’ve had from Testors cans of dullcoat. I prefer Gunze Sangyo flat clear through the airbrush. It’s given me excellent results.

I prefer Testors MM Acryl clear flat to the aersol dullcote.

Thanks, I’ll try out the gunze and the mm clear flats…because i notice the testors cans leave a splotchy look sometimes too. I can mess up my models enough without the help from testors spray lol
