drawing conversions

Hey fellow tread heads: I’m scratchbuilding a M113 Lynx from specification drawings. All I have are a right side profile and the corresponding top view in 1/35. Both drawings are at 90 degrees to each other so I can take the measurements right off the sheet. However at the front of the vehicle and on each side there is a portion of the armour that angles down and away from the center line. How do I measure or change the drawing to give me a true representation of the shape that I need, to cut, and to give me the actual fit on the vehicle? I know this isn’t much of an explaination of what I need but hopefully someone out there knows what I’m talking about.

Here’s some idea’s I use in engineering…

I take the side view, then rotate the top view so its perpendicular to the side view. Then draw lines from the top and side. After a while, the front view will appear from the intersecting lines. It also helps to have some photographs for some dead reckoning/reference.

I’ll look and see if I have a better set of drawings for the Lynx. I’ll get back to you later tonight.

Is that the Canadian Lynx you are trying to build?

If so then I have a 4 view line drawing set that I can e-mail to you if you send me your e-mail address.

Hi icit.

If you have a scanned version of your drawings, try sending it to me at

I’ll work on the sloping sections on CAD and send you back dimensions you need.

Tanks alot, Yes its the Canadian Lynx.

Thanks for the info everyone, yes its the Canadian Lynx.
