dragons jagdpanther smart kit.

greetings everyone, picked up this one on $^@#-bay.and i have been searching for a resin interior,or photos/diagrams.any good books or ref. sites out there?this is a very nice kit.and i’ll be sure to post some pics as build progress goes along.well went to the armor interiors gb to have a gander at brews creation and all of the pics are gone.are you out there brews?

I know there is an interior set just released out there somewhere–CNE Models makes one for $39.95. Verlinden also released one just recently.

For interior shots and more, I give my highest recommendation to MILITARIA IN DETAIL #4 “Jagdpanther” (of course!) published by Wydawnictwo Militaria (?). You might have to go to motorbooks/uk to get it, but it’s the ultimate resource on the Jagdpanther–FULL COLOR interior detail shots, and color plates, and walk-arounds of several museum’s remaining Jagdpanthers. Indispensible!

at the time it seems neither item is available.

Try ebay or Half.com?

Actually, I just googled it, and it IS available from Motorbooks in the UK, for L10.99.

the verlinden kit was for tamiya JP late version. The new dragon is early.
Previous dragon kits had wrong dimension so the upgrade might not fit.

interesting,i googled it and only found #3 and#11.rest assured i will try again.thanks doog.rios ,the first place i usually look is e-bay,but did not see it there.have done a little work on this tank killer it seems to be a very nice kit.the hull bottem is literally full of torsion bars.

I am absolutely nocked over by this kit.
I have been sitting drooling over the plastic bags for close to a day now, I love it.
I do agree though that it is awfully empty in that big fighting compartment.
It is an absolute waist on the nice MG and that main gun detail, well maybee not…

Was a bit disappointed that it didn’t come with the nowadays must have aluminium barrel but the supplied one piece plastic part looks OK.
Interesting that the box art depicts the vehicle without Zimmerit?

Jagdpanther SMART kit? Didn’t know they issued one in the SMART kit series…cool…not unusual for them not to have zimm since most were built after zimm was dropped in Sept. '44…

there’s a late version coming this year too.
heard people having issues with this kit, but overall dimension corrected.

Sweet !!!

That is a very nice kit, I got one for my Birthday. I just finished an in box review of the kit and will post the link after I get it published. [8D]

FYI, All JagdPanther Ausf. G1 Early production had zimmerit. That’s the only thing that bumbed me out about the kit is that it didn’t come with zimmerit since it is required to make it accurate. That’s the problem with setting up expectations since they did such a beautiful job with the King Tiger w/ zimmerit, it’s a shame they didn’t include it. However, given the slab sided nature of the beast, this is a great one to learn how to do zimmerit on. [:)]

There are enough surplus parts in this box to completely rebuild a V/A into a V/G.
How about a G style Main Gun Mantlet?
Fan housing?
3 individual sets of drive weel gear boxes?
25 to 30 percent of detailing parts go into your stash!

Back to Zimming…

There is an error in the instructions which I have document in my “In Box” review of the kit. You can see it here. [:)]

Zimmerit on this kit would be a snap to make–almost all the zimmed JP’s I’ve seen have that simplistic small-square zimm on them. All you’d have to do is simply rough up the surface a bit beforehand with a light brush-over of liquid cement or Mr Surfacer, and then just scribe it in.

Aye laddy, if you’ve ever wanted to try your hand and making zimmerit, this would be a great canvas to work on as the pattern is simple and it’s got lots of flat, slab sided armor plates. [BG]

I was more bumbed about the expectation that was set with Dragon’s King Tiger w/zimmerit kits, it would have been nice to have included it on this one since these had zimmerit.

i concur on the zim.all the reference pics i have show the same pattern.looks like it was done with a stick, with little attention given to the actual continuity of the pattern.i have’nt looked at your link showing the mistake in the instructions.just hope i have’nt done that step yet.

There are a couple of steel wheels included in the kit.
Could these be mixed with the rubber type ones?

Also the zimm is ‘interesting’, the pattern size is 4*4 centimeters, thats ~1mm in 1/35 [xx(]
