dragon wagon moving pershing with M20 Armored Utility Car

my dragon wagon is transporting a pershing i have used the full poto-etch set on both the interior and exterior of truck and trailer this kit as been my biggest project to date and still some work needed on this as the decals and weathering need to be finished it has taken very near 12 months so far on and off

this is the tamiya pershing built straight out the box

also the tamiya M20 Armored Utility Car with full photo-etch kit this is a very nice kit

Looks great, nice job!

Very nicely done, but it is an M20 Armored Utility Car and not an M3 Scout Car. The M3 is a 4 wheeled car that is similar in appearance to a US halftrack.

Looks pretty good from what I can see. The pics are a little dark.

One historical note though, the standard M15 trailer could not haul the M46 Pershing, it was too heavy. The trailer was upgraded to the M15A1 and M15A2 with extra stiffeners and was widened by about 2 feet to accommodate the M46 Pershing after WWII.

I’ve been eyeing this kit. It’s jsut too pricey. I can get it without the trailer but the difference in price isn’t much. The 1:72 scale version is affordable, and the size would still be impressive, but the 1:72 armor kits(I would want a tank on this bad boy) leave something to be desired in my opinion. Especially the tracks. What I REALLY want is the modern versino of this thing, hauling an Abrams. I’ve seen one done at the LHS but the truck/trailer combo was entirely scratchbuilt, and I have no idea if there is a kit of one. Wish I could find the guy again and talk him into tearing it apart enough for me to make resin casts, and then we could sell it and split the profit.

you are right price is a bit high for this kit however i got this at the scaleworld show in telford uk back about 3 years ago at the end of the day when they were all packing up £40.00 british pound and that then enabled me to get the full eduard p/e set and it still cost less than the actual kit alone i have also got a modern day tank transporter the 1/35 trumpeter faun slt 56 tank transporter i might do this in united nation colours aslo have a british warrior to to put on the back again it is space to store finished model i have a problem with one day i will start this finding time is my problem i have another little girl and my model room has been turned into a nursery so i have been evicted in the garden shed now

There is a kit of the modern US M1070 HET w/M1000 trailer. It is made by Accurate Armour and is in resin. It goes for about $500 though. I built one for a customer a couple years ago.

More here.

They also make the British version, the German Faun, and a few older tank transporters.

Man Gino that is GOERGEOUS. Unfortunately unless I can find someone who wants me to build one for them it’s outta my price range. This bugger might be cheaper to scratchbuild. Looks like most of the body is flat panels, and the rest of it is basic structural shapes. Might be difficult to get the curve of the gooseneck right, but the act of making it wouldn’t prove too difficult with some sheet and wide strip. I think the most difficult part of scratchbuilding it would be references and trying to do the grill and interior. I wish someone would make an injected molded version of this. That is beautiful. If I get the $$ to spare believe me I’ll be looking you up again for info on purchasing it, since by that time I won’t remember. LOL.
