It’s been a while since my last post. Here are some images of my latest build. It’s Tamiys’s Dragon Wagon and Dragon’s M4a1. Any comments and criticisms are welcome. Thanks for looking.

Always nice to see one of these monsters get built and have something on the trailer. The fact that you’ve got the recovery crew riding along is just icing on the cake. [Y]

That’s the second sherman recently in that scheme here. Very cool. Well done job and nicely subdued weathering on both builds.
A very, very nice build. Did all those chains actually come with the kit? Again, sweet build.

Very nice indeed. I wish that I could come up with that kind motivation! Something like that would take me YEARS to complete at my rate of fire.
If I may though… and strictly in MHO… That Sherman needs to be ‘boxed in’ and tied down. Get that DW rolling with that load behind you and there’s no telling where that weight is going to be shifting to. Also, with the crew in the cab, you might be better off closing the ‘hood’ or… you are displaying motion… or perhaps it was common to leave those open while in route for better air flow?
I love the overall paint and dusting of this combined subject, (windshield may be a little too foggy) would like to see the figures up close but, you’ve got them in there… that’s a nice touch and IMO, that completes the scene/scale (sans groundwork).

Those chains did come with kit. The kit, while it may be older, is a real beauty. I recommend it to every armor modeler. At least buy it and store it. It’s an awesome kit.

I agree with the dust on the windshield, it is a little to heavy but I can’t do anything about it now. Oh well. The figures are the Tamiya figures that come with the kit. They’re not very good.
I believe I read somewhere that the hood was left open because the engine would over heat. The weight of the dragon wagon with the armored sides was pushing the limit of the engine cooling ability.

The good
Weathering, realistic poses for figures in cab, flawless paint & build (seams, alignment & details) Really like the display base, is it polished black granite? The shine will help view the underside details without resorting to a mirror. Nice touch![H]
the bad,
As mentioned above the tank needs to be chalked, blocked, chain & boomered down. Take a picture of a truck with heavy construction equipment on the low-boy. Boomers wound not be hard to scratch build. The crane is in a loose position. At the very least the load line would be tight and in a travel position. The tanks main gun would have a dust cover over the barrel & probably the co-axle MG.
& the ugly.
The tank is marked for the desert (El Alamein?) Check your references to see if the ‘Dragon Wagon’ was used there, or at least Italy. Most reference photos show it in European campaign use, most are of post war operations.
Take all this as constructive and not rivet counting. A few modifications and the addition of stowage will (in my humble opinion) score a near perfect level at a contest, if that is your plan.[2cnts]
