I tried to duplicate a rope that tied the block of wood to the tank. Hope it looks ok thou.
One point to know is that never to glue the gun manlet cover earlier because you wont be able to move the gun up and down without breaking that part again.
I tried to keep the weathering simple and just plain dirty tank in the field, not like extreme weathering and battle damage.
Carves, Stain that wood! Subliminalize the rust on the spare tracks! Dull Coat! Not a bad job!!! Thanks for sharing! Other comments of other more expeienced fellows will help you more!
m60a3, agentg, jadgpanther302 - Thanks for the comments guys.
Now, how do you stain a wood ? Just make it dirty ? Need a hint here.
Now, the rust on the spare tracks, you guys mean the three pieces “ice cleats” ?
Because to me the spare tracks mounted on the front of the tank and on the sides looks ok to me.
wing_nut - Mark thanks for the comment. Yeah I made it semi dirty cause this is a comission job.
So I dont want to make it kinna scary banged job and battle damage to much here and there.
The objective is to make it pleasent to see and at least to show that the vehicle has seen a little bit of action.
for the wood, go to your local home depot and get a small pint of wood stain in a dark color and stain the wood , will make it pop out alot better. once it dry’s weather it with some pigments then you should be set.
Looks great ben i like it a lot the weathering is real nice i would like to know how you did the fuel spill to keep it wet looking it works well, as far as staining wood i use a dab of oil paint smear it on then hard wipe it off again leaving just enough to stain it. great job.
