Hi bob: that seam at the turret rear was actually a seam in the casting process – not a seam where two parts were joined. I always just fill it but not worry about making a separate weld seam.
I did notice two errors in your ongoing build: 1) the co-axial .30MG barrel should be parallel with the 75mm main gun – that the purpose of a co-axial gun! LOL
the left side commander’s hatch: you’ve installed yours upside down. the handle and locking mechanism are on the inside of the hatch. I hope you can pry it out…
Dave - I have seen the seam as well but could not find any reference to it. Photo references that I have been using show all one piece, but I do remember seeing some with that casting seam. I just wanted a shot to see how “pronounced” it was on the actual turret. Im going to look again for the part today, If the search party comes up empty ill call you for the parts bro and I get a new tube too!!
T26 - the co axial seemed to have changed position since installation. It has now been fixed along with the hatch (thought that looked a little odd) Sometimes DML instructions are …well…less than intuitive.
Moving right along with this one Bob, glad to hear you were able to fix the hatch issue. Got to love DML instructions! I’ve yet to build a kit of their’s that didn’t have at least 1 error somewhere in them. [proplr]
What Bob? You just started and you haven’t finished? What the heck? I’m so used to see these babies cranked out quickly followed by another. I mean, how will you ever dent the stash? [clwn]
Of course you know I’m kidding, but it is sort of true. Good to see any progress though, and I’m not one to talk about finishing. [bnghead]
Ok so its been a while because of other things and also waiting for Brother Daves shipment. Go some paint on just as a start. This puppy will be well weathered and loaded up with stowage.
lots more to go yet, dang PE kicked my [cnsod]. The only PE left is the OV tool tie downs.
[dto:] Love your camo my man! Am back home from 5 days trip to KC. It was great to see your process as soon as I returned to the forums. So far it looks like it is going to be your best work ever…
Dave - brother thank you so much. You saved me again.
My apologies to everyone, I have been rather busy the past week with computer certification classes up my you know what. I have made a little progress and was able to get some decals on and some initial weathering. I am hoping that tomorrow (today its 1am now) I will have some more shots up for you all. Thanks so much for taking a look I do appreciate it and again sorry for the delay in posting.
bit of a dilemma, there is a mount for the .50 but this model does not have one pictured or in the box. I cant find a good reliable picture of one either. Some help would be great and basically if anyone has a shot of one I would love to have a look at it so I can scratch build a mount for it.
Here’s a couple of shots I found. They depict modern vehicle mounts but the darn thing really hasn’t changed much. Delete the Tand E mechanism and you have yourself a winner.

Remember it cradles the weapon as the spent shells drop from the bottom. The pics of the HummVee mounted M2’s are more representitive of what you want for that era.
