Has anyone out there built one of the Dragon kits that has a metal body and comes with palstic parts? I am getting ready to start one. I was wondering if I need to change glue by chance?? I read somewhere that someone said they had a hard time gluing plastic pieces to the metal body. Of course I cant remember where that was. Help!

I have never built one of those, you obviously can’t use your “normal” glue to mix plastic and metal. I would advice a good CA with or without accelerator.
Zip or Flash are the CA’s that I normally use for my R/C planes.
Hey Smokinprice. Which one are you building? I have the 1/72 Late version Jagdpanther. I’m waiting on the Tank Destroyer GB to start but I have test fitted the hull pieces together. There is some metal flash in mine that needs to be filed away. I will probably glue most pieces to the hull with 5 min epoxy. I like 5 min epoxy better than CA although CA w/accelerator is very strong and i’ll probably use that too.

I bought the Dragon 1/72 AAV-7A! USMC Mogadishu 1993. I finally got it in the mail yesterday. Looks easy enough to put together. I am going to prime it today. Yeah, I have a lot of metal flash around my hull as well.

I’ve built three of the metal hulled kits, the Panther G early, Sturmtiger and AAV7A1. The Panther needed some actual metal filed away in order to let the upper and lower hull mate. Rather easy fix.
The Sturmtiger looked great except that the diecast metal upper hull limits your choices of how to replicate the zimmerit that Sturmtigers normally had.
The AAV7A1 left a nasty gap around the entire circumference of the vehicle that had to be puttied and sanded. Major PITA here.
Hey BTW, the revel of germany lower hull mates perfecly with the dragon strumtiger upper works. I think the revel kit has the better running gear. And for 9.00 who can’t afford to kitbask some. LOL BIll
