Dragon 1/72 Challenger 2 - FINISHED! Photos Pg.2

I still can’t get the hang on black bashing. The light has come out really well, could have sworn that was a clear piece.

You and me both on the black basing technique. One of these days I’ll get it right.

As far as the light goes, that’s just the photo. In person it looked solid orange. Although now it looks better with a coat of clear yellow over that.

Im all done with this project now, just letting the final paint work dry before I do photos.

Look forward to the final result.

Ok, I’m calling this one done. I have a base in the works for it, but that will be a few more days down the road as I go back to work tomorrow. Anyways here is how she looks for now…

I’ll get a proper completed photo batch up when I can… Off to AMPS in a bit here…

Spot on Stik, really well done. Curious tehre are no markings though, did the kit not have decals.

Thanks Bish.

No on the decals, no markings of any sort included. Seeing how I got the kit for free to participate in our club’s online group build, I won’t complain one bit about that.

No, deffinetly not somthing to complain about.

Really cool, love how the camo came out!

Thanks Gamera… I sure gained a new level of respect for those who specialize in 1/72 armor after working on this project… just because it’s smaller does not make it easier…

Excellent work, it really pops after the drybrushing. props for your skills in this scale as well[B]

Thank you Mongoose! You can never go wrong with classic techniques like dry brushing…

Amen to that.

Better finished photos!

My first 1/72 armor build since the early 1980’s. Let’s just say that I was quite impressed by this beautifully detailed kit. It even included PE for some of the engine grills and some access plates on the upper forward hull. A real fun build!

some detail shots

Thanks for looking, comments and critiques welcome.

That is really cool. Weather/spatter looks great. I think I’d have to bump up my optivisor at that scale.

Thank you sir. Thankfully my near vision is still good so far. Although I do have one of those swing arm lamps with a central magnifying lens when my eyes are not up to the task…

Great job,yes that spatter is just right.

Gotta agree with everyone else has said, great job!

Gamera & Tojo, thanks for your kind words.

Tojo, I did my best to keep it restrained on the weathering. Not to mention that this is the first 1/72 tank that I have ever weathered. I knew that my usual 1/35 methods would be way too much…

Interesting model Stikpusher, great finish and just enough weathering in my opinion, looks real… your camo is excellent! Wishing you the best at AMPS.

Thank you sergeant. AMPS was fun. We have a great group of guys and every December’s Holiday Meeting is a real blast.
