Dragon 1/32 Mustang..............

Thought you all might be interested in this. Look to the right of the skull and crossbones under the price. Hmmmmmmmmm…[:-^]

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm I would say if ya got one save it and dont build it. Who knows maybe there gona redo the issues with the that so many people dislike. Or all the bad mouthing and canceled order did it.

Even with all the neg. press on this kit I sold out of everyone I had.

Thad

Well maybe they will retool it or maybe they will just stop trying to do any 1/32 scale aircraft whatsoever. Which would be a bad thing because they may have intended to do some kits that aren’t out there yet like some of the japanese stuff some of us would like to see. Like the raiden, tony, rex, serian, kate, val, nate, claude, grace, nick, irving, dinah, tojo, oh i could go on. Don’t forget what a couple of bad reviews did to Occidental.

Dragon is a lot bigger and a lot better established than Ocidental. Dragon is the dominant force in 1/35 scale armor these days. They have been retooling and adding goodies to a lot of their older 1/35 armor kits. I would not be surprised if we see this kit reissued in 6 months or so with the biggest problems fixed.

Most of the complaints people have had about the kit can be fixed reasonably easy through retooling. Recessed detail is much easier to fix through retooling than raised detail would be. The kit doesn’t have any basic shape problems, which would be hard to fix.

Kit molds cost so much to produce, especially the hard steel molds used by the major kit makers cost a fortune to make. It’s way too expensive to just throw away a kit mold because of some bad reviews. The kit will be back, of that I’m sure.

Bill

I for one hope that Dragon DOES re-tool the mold’s, i’d even be willing to pay more for a kit that has parts fitting without major surgery, but seeing as the P-51 is their 1st venture into 1/32 scale AC and taking a pummeling over the excessive rivot’s lousy fitting cockpit and other fit issues as well the lack of detail in the pit. If they(Dragon), fixes these thing’s i’ll probobly buy a couple of them, even if they jack the price up to $50, it would be worth it imho.

Do you have a hobby shop? Or do get 'em and sell on the corner from under a trench coat?

Psst… hey mister… wanna buy a watch… or a P-51?

It’s not discontinued. Jerry Crandall has stated that the president of dragon himself e-mailed him and assured him it was still in production. I’m not sure why HLJ did that.
