Dragon 1/144 sherman

Does Dragon build any Allied stuff in 1/144 (tanks and such)? I would like to see a 1/144 sherman some time.

I also heard that Dragon was building a 1/144 Leopold. Is this true? Do they build any other rail guns?

no alied yes leapold
if you want to see what they do its all on there website

They don’t have any 1/144 WWII Allied, as yet, but they do have a few modern pieces, i.e. Abrams, Challenger, etc. They have the Leopold as well as the Thor, Loki, etc. I’ve got the Leo and the Thor. The Leo built up pretty nice, but as with most Dragon, there were a few gotcha’s along the way. Haven’t started the Thor, yet.

Dragon doesn’t make 1/144th scale WWII models of anything unless there was only three of the actual vehicles produced, or the vehicles broke down all the time.

Check out Kaiyodo’s World Tank Museum “Panzer Tales” series of 1/144 armor. They have an M4A1 76mm Sherman and a Firefly, both in 1/144. Not kits, but very nice little replicas.

I collect these to wargame with. The M4A1 is fairly hard to find here nowadays. What I wound up doing was buying a bunch of Fireflies and converting them by cutting down the barrels and cutting off the turret counterweight.

I wish that Dragon would just do a standard short-barreled Sherman, a Stuart, an M8, a half-track and a truck, most obviously the deuce and a half. That’s only a small chunk of the overall kits they would have on the market, and it would cover most of the bases for US vehicles for WWII.

You could always start war gaming in 1/72 scale, then your problems would be solved[8D]

Wargaming is cool, but not for me. I like to look at the figures, but I would never pay as much as they do for their figures. Maybe for some of the tank kits. But one time I wanted to build a catapult from Games workshop’s Lord of the Rings series, and It was 50 bucks!!! I usually don’t even pay that much for a larger 1/35 scale tank!

Thanks for the suggestion though, maybe I’ll get a few tank ones, but never any of the other stuff!

Using Games Workshop’s prices as a standard for wargaming miniatures is like using Accurate Armour’s prices as a standard for models.

You can buy 50 miniature infantry in 15mm scale for around $13.00 from many manufacturers.

Yep, I do play skirmish games in 1/72nd, but for large scale battles I use 1/144th.
