Douglas Destroyer EB-66C

I am an ex crew chief on a eb-66c and I want to build an accurate model of my acft. 55-385. I have the book by aerofax on the b-66. I also bought the1/48 scale by Collect-Aire and I am just now getting back to working on it. The three views are not too bad, but the bottom view is horrible, there are no hatches for the four ejection seats and no door for the crew as well as no windows(4). I would dearly like to find some good drawings or pictures of the fuselage, wingtip junction, and if possible the gear. It would be so nice if some model company could come up with a 1/32 model of this acft. that was so important to the war. My crew came back happier than a pig in (expletive deleted) when they told me that they had destroyed a site by turning the SA-4 back into the launch site. I would sure appreciate all the help I can get… anyone have an extra -2 or -4 in their back pocket…Bob

Where were you based out of, Korat and when?

Here are a couple of links to some 3-views / plans (zipped);

Although you may be aware of it, www.b66.info is a site dedicated to the Destroyer.

Prime Portal is a very good sight for aircraft walkarounds, & has some RB-66 pics, including landing gear at http://www.primeportal.net/hangar/bill_spidle2/rb-66b_53-0475/index.php?Page=1 (there is a second page as well).

Google image searches & a bit of patience can also often get some handy results.

Good luck.

I was based at Takhli, with the 41TEWS, fromApril to Dec. 1968.
