Dora's glamour shots...Fw 190 is done!

Ok,

Here are the glamour shots of the Tamiya 1/72 Fw 190D-9 out-of-box build.
A great little kit and a trouble free build.

Looks better with the canopy on! [:)]

Joe

Beautiful job hard to beileve its 72
Jason

great looking build. what colors did you use for the camo

Thanks guys…Ron, I used Aeromaster Enamel RLM 76 for the belly and Pollyscale RLM 83 Light Green and a mix of Humbrol for the RLM 82 Dark Green. The black and white stripes are Pollyscale and the prop blades Gunze RLM 70.

Joe

That came out great. Looks like pro work.

Excellent little Dora. Looks great. How would you compare the Tamiya Dora to the Haseegawa, assuming you’ve built the Hasegawa kit.

Regards, Rick

Rick, I have built both and they are both very good kits. Some say the Hasegawa kit is more correct in shape but I don’t see it. I don’t measure models though…I just compare the look to photos and I have to say both look fine to me! The Hasegawa kit lacks the interior detail of Tamiya’s kit but that can be easily improved with a resin cockpit tub and an Eduard Zoom set for the instrument panel and and rear decking details. I have these goodies standing by for my last remaining Hasegawa Fw 190D-9. Considering the prices are nearly equal and out-of-the -box the Tamiya is very well detailed…it would get my nod. There are resin sets available for the landing gear and doors also which would really dress this bird up nicely!

Joe

Thats awsome! I thought it was 1/48 before I read the caption!

I love the late war paint schemes. Great work. I honestly though it was 1/48th when I first saw it. Keep 'em coming.

That’s a georgous Dora! Love it!

Lovely job - superb example and hard to believe its 1/72

Looks great, Joe! Very impressive job. Good to know I’m not the only one who leaves the canopy off while taking pictures![;)]
