Does mr hobby acrylic paint require thinning for air brushing?

Ive been told that i should use thinner to get paint to the consistency of milk to air brush. I just ordered a bunch of Mr Hobby and opened a bottle and its already fairly thin. Anyone have any experience with spraying mr hobby?

Gunze (GSI Creos) Aqueous Hobby Color?

Yes, it can be airbrushed without thinning, but you get better results if it’s thinned.

I second Phil, it can be shot through an airbrush without any thinning, but the results aren’t the best. Once you get the hang of thinning them in the ratio you can work with the best they spray like no other paint IMO.

I’d suggest you don’t use Gunze’s Aqueous thinner but the normal Mr.Color Lacquer thinner instead. It makes the paint go on even smoother´. The very best thinner for Gunze acrylics is Mr.Leveling Thinner though (hard to get in most places)

I use a lot of Gunze, but never tried it without thinning - I’d second Phil and Schatten about thinning it.

I thin mine around 50/50 with Tamiya Acrylic Thinner, seems to work the same as the Gunze Aqueous thinner but easier for me to get my hands on here.
