Do you read all of FSM?

[?] While browsing through the Forum over the past few weeks i have noticed questions raised that were answered either in the current edition of FSM or a very recent one.
This leads me to ask the question of whad do you read in the mag?
Do you read all of it including the advertisements or just what interests you?

Like Joe, I read pretty much the whole thing. Even though I build mostly AC, I read the Armor and Sci-Fi, etal., because sometimes there are helpful ideas that I can apply to my modeling efforts. Some of the articles are great, some are disappointing, but most are at least interesting.

I’m a cover to cover reader … I might not complete it cover to cover before the next issue arrives … but before long I have it all read … and then go back and re-read the best parts. Even if the article is not about something I am currently interested in … I might be later on … and knowledge is never a waste of time. Great mag … since the very first issue way back in 1982 … thanks FSM [^]

Well some people may be like me around here in the sense that the last issue I had my hands on was the Feb. one. I pick them up a coule issues at a time when I make it to the LHS. I do read it cover to cover though and for me it seems like I get done with it way to soon.

Generally cover to cover, sometimes many times over. If there is a story that doesn’t pertain to my interest, I may skim it or skip it.

Pretty much the whole thing, often more than once. It could stand to be a hundred or so more pages packed with articals mind you. I wouldn’t complain.

[#ditto][#ditto][#ditto] I’m with Dave all the way!!! Plus I like all of the awesome pictures!!! Now if only half of the websites advertised in there worked!!

I look through it, page for page, and read what I think will help me of something just interesting. I always look a the pictures that people send in of their models.

I read cover to cover, then later on reread what interests me, ans skim over other parts. A great magazine, thanks FSM.

I read the whole thing, all ads included. Several times!
It ain’t that thick a mag, and there’s always something to learn in every article and story.

When I can find it I do. I know that I should get a subscription to avoid the hunt but at one time I could find it at the newsstand but they don’t carry it any longer. So I just go without for long stretches of time. It’s a pity.[:(]

Cover to cover. I keep my most current one in my briefcase, and read it (over and over) while waiting for my next trailer (load).

Wow! I’m amazed at the number of cover-to-cover responses. It seems like it takes forever to put an issue together, but I hear how thoroughly some of you read it, the time we spend is certainly justified.

Our advertising folks will be glad to hear that some of you are reading the ads, too. [:)]

I, too, build primarily 99% aircraft but I love reading the issue from cover to cover! I first start with all the AC-related articles. Then I’ll start back over and read from front to back all the non-AC related articles. THEN (and I never thought I’d ever say this) I love to go back and read the ads! Mr. Hansen, tell your advertising folks that so many of my FSMs have the ad sections dog-eared and many of the advertisers have been patronized by me. I think FSM is the only publication I get (subscription or otherwise) where every single page is read from cover to cover!

Eric

Wait… There’s SCI-FI in FSM??? When did this happen??? [;)]

i think i speak for all here, thankyou for your hardwork. i love the photos. to see what others have done is great.

now if we can hijack an issue for a “forum” issue.

joe

All of it!

I tend to go cover to cover then periodically reread it.

I am one of those cover to cover readers too. I usually thumb through it first and read the areas that interest me most. Then I start at the front and read the complete magazine. I keep all of mine in a binder for future reference. There have been lots of times I have gone back and read parts of a magazine that is one, two or three years old.
