Do you eat or drink at your modeling workbench / table?

I won’t eat at the bench for fear of getting my paws greasy/oily/sticky and that winding up on the project. But like Bish, without caffeine (and for me nicotine too) ain’t the first thing gonna happen![prte]

Not me…I’m too much of a klutz!

Never brought food to the workbench (the whole greasy potato chip thing others have mentioned), but I used to have a drinkie. That ended when I knocked one over while handling a model. The resulting mess was terrible - the liquid ran down the side of my desk and soaked the carpet under the adjacent display cabinet.

Now if I need a snack or a drink, it’s off to the kitchen. Remember kids, don’t drink and model.

Friends dont let friends paint hungry!

Eat - nope.

Drink - yep – margarita has been drink of choice lately.

@ Real G knocking drink over while “Handling” a model…come on now, you aren’t any different than the rest of us…you were on a CAS danger close bombing/strafing run and failed to pull up in time. [whstl]

Cheers,

Dave

I’ll have a cup of tea on the bench–actually, a big, bolshy mug o’the old cha–this time of the year, when it’s relatively cold in the basement. But I’m mindful of all of the nasty compounds and chemicals that we have on our benches, and I’m leery of keeping food and drink around while I’m working. Also leery of knocking anything over and spilling liquid or sending a cup or glass to the cement floor below. So I don’t usually. In the summer, I’ll enjoy a glass of beer or two out in my beer garden first, then go downstairs for some bench time before turning in.

Two, for me, but they’re Franziskaners. That’s a liter, at that point. I see the same effect, I’m relaxed enough that I don’t bear down too hard. That’s when I paint eyes on my figures.

Has anyone ever accidentaly “weatherized” a sandwich?

No, but I have had sanding debris get into the drinks. Another reason not to have food or beverage on the bench!

Exactly the reason why I keep food and drink far away from the hobby bench–I would do the same thing within two minutes!
