Hi All,
Does anyone know how the new DML 1/35 3-in-1 Tigers compare to Academy’s Tigers? I’m shopping and I had heard that Academy’s set the standard. Has this changed with DML’s new kits?

I never built an Academy Tiger, but have heard of quite a few fit problems and inaccuracies with them. Tamiya has set the standard in the past, but I think DML is redefining it. You can’t really beat the value of what they put in the 3 in 1 box and with their new slide molds and attention to detail, I would suggest them over any others. The DMLs I’ve seen built up have been the best Tigers I’ve looked at to date.
IMHO Dragon is ruling the roost right now. The Academy Tigers with interiors have some major fit up issues, The 3&1 has some minor ones. The new Dragon release has superior detail. I defintely vote DML.

I would go for DML… I have built the Academy and Tamiya Tigers, but the Dragon Tigers are supposed to be the best as far as accuracy issues…
DML… Cheaper AND you get a box so full once you open it you can’t close it again.
I’d have to agree, DML is definately the best!! My tiger is on the bottom, and I just bought the new M4A3 Sherman VVSS “Battle of the Bulge” It’s soooo jam packed, I really will have to say that I wont be unloyal to DML ever again!
Thanks for the info guys - DML it will be!

I think DML has pretty much got my vote, and I’ve not even purchased any of their most recent releases. Semper Fi, Mike
I will agree on that DML is wheres its at I picked up there 3-1 tiger , p-tiger,ardennes tiger and what great kits and the price you cant beat it
I’ve heard very good things about the recent slew of Dragon kits, and the Tiger 3-in-1 kits are just top value for the buck today. I do have the academy one, and IMHO it’s a great kit. I have not built it, but the fact that it’s a full interior is what sold me on it. I do wish to get a King Tiger as well, and will definitely be purchasing one of the new Dragon offerings.
Totally DML, they are extremly awesome, and they have almost literally like a million parts![:D]

I have the Academy Tiger 1 with full interiors. It is a great kit in my opinion but I am looking forward to the DML Tiger 1. I have built quite a number of recent DML releases and those are very very good to say the least.
No contest and no comparision in my opinion. Go with the best, DML.
Dragon is setting the bar with all the new innovations that others have yet to catch onto. I can’t wait for the Early and Late. Even AFV’s is making me yawn.
