here’s my old dml stug kit i finished a couple of months back… this is my fourth model since returning to the hobby after my fifteen year off period… it’s and old kit and my only complaint was no bullet splash ribs and the extremely difficult to clean-up
tracks… but overall i was happy… i used a detail set from royal models on this one, and various stores from difrent companies… the figures are all dragon, i think they’re pretty stiff but way better than what we had back in the day… i still gotta work on
my figure techniques… sorry bout the quality of picks and the overlap of my crowded work space…

Did the chain come with the kit? If not, great addition.
The chain actually came from micheals a huge craft store. There’s so much stuff you can get there dirt cheap. You just have to be able to nit pick the whole store. As well its just me and three girls at home so we all get to do some shopping there. I especially like getting some of my tools there at a 1/4 of the cost then at the hobby shop.
Bummer about the pics, for it would be easier to critique your work. Perhaps you could take some pics outside?
My bulb finally burnt out at my desk so its just a normal light. Plus my phone doesn’t have a flash. My wife’s phone does as well it takes much better pics. I just got in a hurry to show some work done. I’ve been talkin on here quite a bit and wanted to show I was a builder and not just a poster. So either way I learned a lesson today and will post better quality next time round.

Always loved those little beast StuGs! It looks pretty good despite the picture quality. That’s something we can work on in Panzer III GB. [:D] Just a tip, tone down the gloss paint on the figures by applying a coat of flat acrylic or two… it always worked.
Thanks for posting your pics. May I offer this suggestion? Don’t fall into the trap of using chains too much. On modern AFVs (and I include WW2) the only major combatant that really used chains (attached to hooks) much was France. Other nations used cables. Chains weren’t that useful and if you look at photos, you’ll rarely see them. Modellers love them for some reason.
Yeah I know chains are more of a hazard for tankers. I saw a pic when I was a kid of a stug in some russian city using chains to remove debris from a street and always wanted to put some on the front end. But yeah I have about two feet of chain that ill problably have for ever. Cause other than that shot I’ve never seen more than a few feet on a tank

Get your wife’s camera and get some shots posted - I love my StuG’s and want to see this one!
I take all my pictures using a ‘daylight’ light in the office at home or if the weather is ok there is a perfect spot outside where I can put my builds and get a proper daylight picture where the build just oozes colour and the camera isn’t dazzled by the Sun as I take them just as the Sun is dropping in the sky slightly.
Since I started building I’ve always used my 'phones. Nokia phones with a little 5mp camera & Zeiss lens seem to work very well for me. I must try and get my Dad’s digital jobbie set up for close range range work - it’s a very nice camera but I struggle with close range photos, (lack of picture clarity mainly) - my phone does better.
