DML Panzer III aus M "Afrika" UPDATED more pics!

Still working on my dio base for this old release Dragon Pz III, I used the excellent Tristar German tropical panzer crew figure set. I will post all the glamour shots tomorrow (my batteries died in the camera!)

Finish is Tamiya acrylic, weathered with the airbrush and some MIG powder, fruil tracks as well. Scratch building on the storage with a home made tow cable as well…

Steve

Thanks for the responses guys. The figures are not really complete as I am still constructing the dio, they certainly do need a “dusting”.

Hey Tigerman, thanks for the comments, I too was suprised to learn that the M’s were sent to Tunisia.

Anybody have any suggestions on a dio theme?

Here are the rest of the shots:

It turned out nice. Great weathering.[tup]

looks great. get some of those mig powder on those figures too. they look like they just polished their shoes that morning.

Looking great! Love the weathering!

Nice and dusty! Have to agree on the figures…they look great but a little out of place vs. the heavy dust on the tank…especially if they are “riding” or have been marching along and are taking a breather. [tup]

Fantastic Steve! Nice to see you trying something new. Great looking build. I didn’t know that the III M was in Africa. Must have been a few at that.

IIRC they were part of the standard loadout of the Abtg. for Tiger companies…not all the tanks were Tigers and the Tunisian deployment would’ve matched when the M’s were still in service.

Great job, Steve. It has the desert feel written all over it. Looking forward to the dio.

Looking real good there Steve. [tup][tup] Excellent weathering and I like the choice of figures. Look forward to seeing the completed dio.

Hey!

I might not have posted for a while I think that I can still say that I think that looks phenomenal!

Hi guys, the Tamiya III L shows a Tunisian version. This is correct? “L’s” were in Africa? Thanks all.

Steve

All versions of the Pzkpw III G-M served in Tunisia/N. Africa, not too sure about the N’s though.
