DML 1/48 Fokker D.VII

has anyone built this kit. i just bought it and want to know what to expect in this build.

It’s a very nice kit. The steel rod is a little difficult to cut. The PE jackets for the machine guns need to be carefully rolled, and attachment of the front piece can be tricky. The upper wings align well, and it builds into a very sturdy model. Have fun ! I enjoyed building mine.

Pix, as for rolling those jackets. The last time I did that on a sort of regular basis, doing Tom’s Model Works sets and Koster kits, both of which use very thing brass, I found that I had a fairly soft cutting pad, a little harder than a mouse pad and a little thicker, and I could roll an X-acto handle back and forth until the jackets began to form just about right. Then I would go to a smaller roller and finally the jackets would come out perfectly. But I don’t have that pad any more, and have not done any to my satisfaction since. Do you have any suggestions on how to roll brass parts into a tiny cylinder? I’m about to face about three or four on the cockpit of my Buccaneer.
Tom
