Some months back I went back to Enfield (N London) where Jennings model shop is situated (a favourite childhood haunt!), amongst other things I bought was a catalogue by their importers which featured (I swear!) the predecessor to the HET, the Oshkosh? tank transporter, by Hobbycraft TW, which is a subsiduary of Trumpeter. Stupidly its been thrown out now, but I’ve mailed Jennings for another one ’ railways@jen1.demon.co.uk’ this shop has been around for 30 years since I were a lad!!, do know what they’re talking about.
Yes I too have the ‘Dragon Wagon’, the Faun, & the Famo & trailer in my attic…
All the best Chris
I think you are talking about the M911 Oshkosh HET.

Not sure who made a model of it, but I have seen one out there.
Cheers HeavyArty,
I’m trying to track this kit down, looks like I got a few bits wrong (as in not by hobbycraft for one!):-
1:35 Hobby Fan M911 Tractor C-HET #005
Still cant find the website but I know its out there!..
Working on it, Chris (X-files)P.
On this subject, anyone know of a kit of a British army “Antar”. During a fathers day drink on Sunday, my dad recollected that he used to drive this tank transporter during his national service in 1958. I don`t know the real name of this vehicle, but would be interested to find a kit and build one for him.
Any help appreciated.
Hi Dave,
You’re really going to love this… I live about 2 miles from the old Thorneycroft factory in Basingstoke (now a large Safeways/Morrisons )…bring your dad, come out to Basingstoke, mind the roundabouts [:)], and go to the local transport museum (its BIG…) by the Cinema, also look at Accurate Armour in scotland for a more lasting memento
Cheers Chris
