Diorama Progress Photos

Here are some updated photos of my Regulus One launch diorama. I am now in the final phase which is building the missile. Here it is shown being test fit to the launcher. Now to the glue pot and then the paint can. With the exception of the generator, trusk and figures all else is scratch built in 1/32 1nd 1/35 scale.

Thanks for looking[:D]

Richard

nice job, no i know that it is not a mace in the pic… thanks hope my dio will look as good

Nice dio Richard,it looks very good .

Pedro

Richard,

Your diorama looks very good so far, can’t wait to see it finished!

It looks like you used the VLS tarmac in your dio, beware that it may come apart after a few months. I used the same product on my photobase and it looked good for about two weeks but after that it has been a losing battle keeping it glued down, I have used three different glues and nothing has worked very long. I will be removing the VLS tarmac ASAP from my photobase.

Matrixone

Matrixone,

What I did was to take the one I had to a print shop and they made it into a 2 foot by three foot poster which I modified for the dio. The only thing I had to do was use a dull spray on it to be more realistic.

Richard

Richard,
That was a good idea you had regarding the VLS tarmac, I wish I would have done that!

Matrixone

A very nice job ! Congrets !

Great job on the diorama, Richard. She’s coming out really really nice.

I like! I like!

Very nice job Richard

Thad

Cool!

I’m in awe. There is so much attention to detail here, and the overall look definitely radiates a busy scene. Excellent job!
Which kits did you use, btw?

zokissiama,

Thanks for the kind words.

The kits used were:

  1. M-34 Tactical truck Revell
  2. Electric generator Resin kit from Des Kits
  3. Italiari field tool shop
  4. 2 figures from the Italiari German tank crew
  5. 3 of the figures are from the Verlinden U.S. Mechanics in Korea.

The figures all had to be modified to represent Navy figures of the 1950s. The truck was modified with a different cab roof as the kit had a cloth roof. Everything else is scratch built.

Richard

richard wow. that is awesome. nicely done.

joe

I’d like to second fightnjoe’s opinion, your dio is nicely done. The background lawn and trees look very convincing. How did you do that? [:)]

very nice. [tup]
btw, is the rocket carved from wood? if not, that’s sure a realistic wood finish!!

Thanks guys,

MM - The photo was taken outdoors.
Jay - the missile is wood I turned it on a lathe.
