I think Joh is one of your better painters. I plead ignorance, but the DAK logo shirt seems a bit strange to me… do they sell those at Target next to the Beatles tees?
Same old same old, but the DAK decal on the guy’s shirt is just off the wall laughable. It would almost be plausible as a T-shirt, or on the bak of the shirt, but on the front of a button down shirt?
At least this guy cleaned up the mold lines…No, wait. They’re still there.
Are these bookends?
SteveM, thanks for your kind comments. Joh is a good figure painter but I think AI do better jobs in both figure and armor.
subfixer, I don’t know what your “bookends” means. Is it something similar to cardboard?
Bookends are what you use to prop up books on a shelf.
Hmmm, what’s equally as strange, if not more so, is the tricolor French campaign decal the insurgent has on his right sleeve. Guess he had some extra decals laying around, figured they’d look good on him. Although, if there was a hoody that existed with the DAK symbol on the back, that would be kinda cool…wouldn’t really wear it any where, given the inflammatory symbolism but it’d still be neat. Also, Subfixer, I like that idea of book ends! That might be a great project one of these days…
I like these a lot …
No disrespect on the bookends comment. Thought it was a little “iffy” at first … BUT then got to looking at them. I think something like this, set on really stable/ heavy bases would make an AWESOME set of bookends! … Think I might just have to start that project. Might just use real metal bookends as part of the base. … Thanks for the idea!!!
Overall, I like’m. There’s a few things here and there that stick out a little, but overall a nice piece.

Hahaha, get out! Man, there really is something for every one out there eh? Although, $90 for a hoody? [:O] Shoot. That’s a bit too much coin for clothing, IMO.
I’m not seeing that…???
Shows up best in this pic, right arm above the elbow.
Ahhhh…got it. I think that is a German tricolor helmet emblem, not French!
Many thanks for your kind comments! You can use these as bookends and you don’t need metal as part of the bases. They are already heavy pieces.
I like them too. “Joh” has done good job. The boy comes shoeless, it was “Joh” who gave him slippers p and the DAK sign. Thanks again!
Me too, don’t know which guy he mean.
Take a look here - www.soldierandwar.com/default2…ype=H
DAK T-shirt (G-29) costs only $10.20 each, except you’re real fat. That will be $13.60
MM, Im curious…
Do you ever give your builders the feedback we give? Seriously I want to know. I see you posting something new here every week or so and they always have the same problems. They show alot of promise but need more TLC. Ever think of telling them to slow down on the construction and make sure everything is done right, instead of speeding them out?
"In the midnight hour he cried- “more, more, more”
With a rebel yell he cried- “more, more, more”
In the midniight hour babe- “more, more, more”
With a rebel yell- “more, more, more”

Idol…
really??
[:XX]
That was kinda…weird…
Yes, that is what I meant though I’m incorrect in my terminology. I had thought it was indicative of the German campaign in France, not that the emblem was French itself. Though researching it I found out that the national tricolor decal was introduced in 1933, well before the invasion of France. So you learn something new every day.
