This guy is a keeper. Finally a dio that looks good and makes sense. About time.
Well… I still have issues with the title, I cant tell whos saying that to whom. But as far as the work itself goes, its really good. The smoke on the well, smoke looks amazingly good. Adds alot of realism, give your builder my kudos.
I think his work is perfect. Simply by reading the title and seeing the broken down jeep you can put together that the man standing in the road is with the guy fixing thier broken jeep and the man driving the DUK has stopped to ask whats going on.
Its a good work and the title makes you look closer at the dio and put the story together without having to explain it.

A good diorama/vignette doesn’t need a published title. We should be able to take one look at it and know exactly what’s going on.

Thanks for sharing this one with us MM, Totenkopf did an excellent job. No title was needed, by the way, it was obvious what was occuring in this scenario.
I agree that this is one of the best that’s been here in a while! Eberything looks good, everything just fits and makes sense. The modeling itself is top-notch!
I like this one, MM… I especially like the way your guy carried the ground color up onto the vehicles to tie 'em into the dio… Give Deadhead a thumbs up…
Nice work…maybe an overdone theme: vehicle maintenance, but nonetheless, good work, overall…

I like this one a lot. Nicely built and the scene makes sense.
Uhmm., A dissenting viewpoint for what it is worth. I see a half a house in the middle of a golf course (pic 1)?? A road that ends abruptly in a smooth grassy field (pic2)? The figures interact but the setting is out of place. In my opinion, the story is there but the setting doesn’t follow through. It can be done much better.

Pordoi, your “golf course” impression is you looking at the table or whatever that the diorama is sitting on… It’s half a house on the edge of the dio, and the road ends right behind and just to the right of the amphib jeep at the same edge… If you look to the left side of the Jeep and right side of the amphib, you can see the wood reveal of the dio base… I’m guessing, but the base is probably about 8" x 10" in size…
I like it too. I think its very well crafted and has a definate narrative going on. Plus, I have a thing for amphibeous jeeps… [;)]
I like that he added cigarette smoke. No tremendously realistic, but a nice touch. I agree, I believe you have a hungrier modeler in this guy. Seems to still like building. Give AI a well needed vacation from modeling.

Looks real good, especially the figure painting.
Given the level of detail and the high quality of the build, I’m guessing this is not a rushed commission job like the usual poisting, but rather it was already built, then purchased.
