Because it’s summer[H], my building has been on “slowed” for a spell but have been reading a fair bit on the Kindle. My latest is “Aces of the Legion Condor (Aircraft of the Aces)”, which gives a good background on the beginnings of the Spanish CW, how Germany got involved and information on the a/c used (both Nationalist and Republican). I already have a CA 109A Legion Condor in the stash but am about to add the CA He 51. Have any of you built up a Spanish Civil War a/c, of either side and what was it?
Neat Spruce, imagine a Hawker and Heinkel in the same schwarm. [^o)]
I haven’t yet but i do have a Ju 87A in the stash. I would like to add a few more 72nd kits from the Legion.
If you are into 1/72 aircraft, there is a he 111C bomber from roden that you could paint/convert into the Legion condor colors, I would do it myself if it was in 1/48,
In 1/48 you have the ‘new’ eduard ‘I-16 Type 10 over Spain DUAL COMBO 1/48’, they’re all Spanish civil war versions in there. They’ve also got a weekend kit or two,
Polikarpov I-15’s were there fighting to.
Italeri’s HS 126 has a legion condor version in it,
Henschel He 123A’s were used to,
Any Fiat CR. 50’s could be painted into Legion Condor shemes, or Fiat Cr 32’s,
The trumpeter Savoia-Marchetti SM79-II could be converted/painted into legion condor.
(altough they used SM-79-I’s and not II’s)
Special hobby’s Fiat BR.20 could be converted/painted in a legion condor paint job.
Or a Dornier Do17(F-1) was used to, don’t know what kit to use, except for the old Hobbycraft kit.
The Classic Heinkel HE51 as you mentioned, and indeed also the Junkers Ju87 Stuka
There are a lot of models you could do you know, they’ve used alot of different airplanes,
only reason why I keep saying converted/painted is because I don’t know if they used older subtypes or not which would make it impossible to build 'em, but they’re all possible I think.
Check wings Palette for shemes and such
I like spanish Civil war aircraft, those shemes on the bf109 are one of the few that I like on 109’s.
the osprey series have a couple of books on Legion condor aircraft/aces to.
I have the ‘older’ Aircam/airwar 3: Spanish Civil war Air forces at home, got some nice pic’s and other stuff in there to…
And I had the I-16 Academy kit with that popeye on it, but I wanted to build a russian I-16 so I didn’t build that one, but I want to someday, I have the academy Bf109 kit in the stash, maybe I will buy the Heinkel He51, I know a shop which still has one. But I will definitely build some more of those spanish aircrafts in the future!

Hmm… has there ever been a Spanish Civil War GB?
Lol our minds think alike!
Not that I know off, would be some subject though
There were alot of aircraft that I didn’t mention yet so…
I certainly don’t recall one. Would be a nice idea.
According to sources only 3 Hawker’s made it to Spain and only 1 was on the Nationalist side, that bird above would be a real rarity!
I posted a GB feeler to see if any other people are interested to make a GB out of this.
If any of you guys would like to join, pos something in there.
With regards, Ninetalis.
Ninetails,
For clarification, it’s FIAT G.50 not CR 50. The difference is the designer of the aircraft. Celestino Rosatelli designed both the CR.32 and CR.42 while Guiseepe Gabrielli designed the G.50. Many Italian aviation companies used a similar designation approach.
Some DC-2’s were converted for bomber use, as well as Fokker Trimotors, I have a Polish aircraft model, in 1/72 with a Spanish Civil War markings. Here is a link with a list of models.

I ment the G.50, I must of mistyped, I wrote that reaction right before when I went to bed,
so I was really tired. Hadn’t noticed it.
Nice website Btw.
With regards, Ninetalis
Understandable Ninetails, being tired makes all of us not think up to norm. Maybe I’ll join this GB with the Poilsh fighter. I have the 1/72 Dekno PWS 10 for the Nationalists.

Just saw this NT, will do and heck yeah I’m interested.
