I know there are a few resin Mad Max pursuit special kits out there, and Aoshima did one that’s no longer available. But has anybody ever seen just the straight up Falcon done as a kit? It seems odd that not even an Aussie company made one. Apparentyl the film made it a popular car, so it would seem to make sense somebody puit it out as a kit, even if it was never really available in the States.
Try these guys. They seem to have a lead on resin kits of many Australian cars
Well, it’s an improvement, of sorts. They have a 73 Falcon resin body for $80 AUS, which requires an additional kit (apparently I have to order it to find out what) to supply the chassis. My guess, though, is that with shipping from Aussie-land, It’ll be the same as any resin kit I could get here.
But thanks! It’s a start, at least. [:)]
Well, score! I just picked up the Aoshima kit off ebay.
Now, I just need to learn to sculpt, so I can have Max and his dog in 1:24 scale…
not certain but you could perhaps modify a 73 torino to get a reasonable falcon.Actually it may be a 72…Again a little research may be in order.I believe falcon production ceased in 72 in the states.Perhaps someone out there could further enlighten us both.Good luck and keep us all updated.[tup]Check out ,cargurus.com,I actually googled 72 ford falcon.
The “Falcon” brand continues to live on here in Australia.
Looking at various Torinos, it looks like the XA-XC series Falcon coupe body most resembles the 1970-ish Torino GT/Cobra, but don’t take my word for it, I’m not really a car guy.
Good to know. Maybe I can track down a 1:32 diecast Torino for a diorama. Thanks!

There’s a definite family resemblance.
I’m going to see if I can find some photos of a rare 429 SCJ falcon.Saw one at the Back To The Fifties car show in the twin cities many years back.
Detailfreak,
This is a '78 Aussie “XC” Falcon Cobra. 400 were built in this trim, half of this number with a 351 and the otehr half with a 302.
The “XC” series was the last of the “Coke bottle” body style, the following 1979 “XD” having a “European inspired” boxy shape.
Very cool cars Phil_H.They kinda got the Talledaga Torino look in the front do’nt they.Did the australian manufacturers build a ute also.
