Dewoitine update

Here are two pics showing how things stand at the moment with my 1/72 Azur Dewoitine 371.

This little kit came with very few panel lines, and yet the nice box art was showing a lot of rivets everywhere, and a neat weathered look, particularly visible on the silver-painted parts of the fuselage…

So I printed a lot of sepia coloured dots on blank decal sheet and have been applying thin strips of ‘rivets’ . The pics show that job just about done. A coat of flat varnish will follow the last decals, then I’ll use pastel powders and oils to weather the kit along the rivet lines and other ‘strategic’ places.

Hey - that’s a great idea…rivets on clear decal film. It really pops out the detail.
That’s a fantastic little model - very tidy.
Keep posting pics until you’re done.

Thanks!

Thanks, Lee…! At the moment, the sepia-coloured rivets do stand out quite a lot against the silver background paint, but when the weathering is completed, it should look better.

Very clever.,… and very effective. Looks great.

Thanks!

Domi, very interesting build, and love the rivet idea.

Looking forward to the finished article.
