Desert Hurricane finally!

Well, here’s my first “big” build in about 50 years - the old Revell/Monogram 1/32 MkIIc Hurricane. Started it about five years ago then left it til I’d invested in an airbrush, spray booth etc etc. Also my first go at oil washes. I’m fairly happy with the outcome given increasingly bad eyesight and fine motor control issues. Next, to finish that Spitfire I started as a teenager….

Nice work. One of the few Revell 1/32 kits I never built. How was the detail in the cockpit and wheel wells? Did it come with that goofy two-part pilot figure that were customary for these releases?

Nice job. Way to stick to it!

Thanks! The wheel wells and cockpit had no detailing to speak of but yes, they did supply a pilot who wasn’t too bad in terms of detail.. the worst part was the fact that the decals were so old they shattered or broke, even though I put a clear coat on them first so I ended up getting replacements which went on brilliantly

I like it. So, ya took a little break, it’s all good, when the results are like this.

Thankyou kindly! I just wish my eyes were as sharp and hands as steady as when I paused all those years back
