Demon Lamashtu Bust WIP

Started this 3D printed bust by Printomancer as a means of learning to use oils over acrylics. So far i have done alot of the initial clean up from printing.

Spent a decent amount of time filling this hollow print and sealing it up. I then did another primer coat in white. This revealed a couple places i missed in the initial clean up. So will be fixing those soon.

In the mean time i applied some liquid mask to the eyes as to preserve the whites prior to more paint applications.

I have also done the base gold on the base.

Wow, that figure/bust looks amazing. I’ve also started practicing figure painting using oils over an acrylic base coat. Good luck with this project.

Thank you, unfortunately have not made much progress for a variety of reasons with a big reason being weather to get some spots I missed using filler on.

Weather finally cooperated and i was able to get some work done.

I got all the filling done on the main figure, and started getting her primed for paint. First was a coat of Mr. Surfacer white to check my work, followed by Mr. Surfacer pink to act as the base coat. However i noticed i forgot to putty the point where the hilt broke off and o reattached. So that was a bit of a set back.

It’s a good feeling when things go to plan (the weather in this case) so progress can be made and this one is going to be fun to watch.

Is the purpose of using the pink Mr. Surfacer to enhance the skin tone to follow? What type of paint are you planning to use, oil or acrylic? The casting of this bust is just outstanding.

This is very cool! I have a few figures in this scale but need to work my way to painting them well…

Yeah, to make the skin tone better is the reason for the pink. Its not cast, its printed.
