Hi everyone!! Just wanted to show some pictures of my newest build, DS9. I have been working on it since April. I was a nightmare! I have almost 50 miniature L.E.D.s lighingt this thing and I had a hell of a time getting all the wires where they needed to be. I drilled out 2,500 windows and then filled them in with Testors window maker. I built and hand painted the wooden base and docked a Furuta Defiant just for my own satisfaction. It will be included when I sell it on E-bay. I repainted it 3 times. I wanted as much detail as possible but it is so small and it was not an easy task but it doesnt look too bad. I attached it by running a machine screw in it and removing the head and threading it in the docking port. It can be removed for shipping and screwed back into place when it is unpacked. So here you go. PLease let me know what you think!!! Thank You!!! Terry
I’m gonna go out on a limb here, and positively state, that shows a lot of work and talent!
Oh and WOW too.
Excellent job!
I know what you mean about the windows. I built the Star Wars Death Star (AMT?) several years ago and drilled out windows in it. Took about 1 week just to drill the holes. Now every time I watch Dr. Who I have flashbacks as I would do the drilling while watching.
Thank You for the kind words!!!
I think that drilling and shaping the windows on any starship is the worst part. soooo many drill bits have I gone thrue, that I have lost count. I started buying them from micro mark by the tens. what I need yet is a cordless dremel to make it easier. Thanks for the nice comment. Dont forget I am selling this on ebay, if you know someone who might be interested, let them know! Thanks again!
That’s just awesome, Cpt.Stover! You must have tremendous patience, which is a vital modeling skill that I lack. I would have given up after drilling about 10 windows! Keep it up!
Chris
Wow, just awesome! I agree all those holes were a lot of work but well worth it! And I love the base- did you freehand the Federation, Cardassian, and Bajorian markings?
BTW- it’s just cool to see one built up- I’ve got the kit, know others who have it but haven’t seen but a few actually built.

Thank You!
First thanks for the compliment! And yes i did free hand the base. Drawing, panting, they both have been a passion of mine since I was in elementary school. I just started combining them and I like painting somthing different on each build so that even if it is a repeat ship the base will always be unique. Thanks again.
absolutely beautiful, I also have the kit but haven’t built it yet. I’ve been collecting fiber optic strands and leds so I have them when I need them.
