Decals help

Hey all, new hear and am probably asking a dumb question, but is there a way to produce your own decals? Im wanting to start modeling some of the vehicles I’ve seen and operated over here in the big sandbox when I get home… one of the things I have to make is a sign for a 1/35 HMMWV or Bradly saying

Stay Back 100 meters
Deadly Force will be used
In both English and Arabic… I have pictures… can I make them on a pc?? or is there a company that will make custom Decals?? Thanks for the Help in advance

Welcome Robert
And first of all thank you for you service. Now to answer your question YES you can, Just look up decal paper on the net, there are several. With the decal paper you print up what ever you wish in a wordprocessor then just print it out, then apply it like anyother decal. Hope that helps, And am sure others will pop in with a lot more info for you. Look at this site it will let you know what’s available.

Yes, they are quite easy to make your own. Check out this post where I described it for someone else.

The english wording should be easy, not sure how you would do it in Arabic, unless you have an Arabic text program. Or you could take the below photo and cut the Arabic lettering out of it in Photoshop and make it into a decal with the NATO camo already on it.

Good luck.

Actually, the arabic lettering wont be much of a problem I dont think… I have LOTS of pics of HMMWVS, Brads, and such with the signs on em… I was thinking about just scanning the pic, and then reducing it to 1:35. Thanks for all the help!

Oh, and just a bit of information… I cant recall if its Verlinden or Tamiya that had OIF figures out, but bewarned, if you want it really authentic, on of the figures has to have a new head. He has on a boonie hat, and you dont roll out the gate with out Kevlar on your head. Also, the kevlar of issue has changed… its shorter and has no visor… Ya’ll probably see it TV.
