I have a Hobby Craft 1/72 Sukhoi SU-25 and the decals are very oedanyary and I want to buy some after markets ones. I know the Iraqi Air Force use (or should that be used) this type of aircraft and I want to do one. Does anyone know if are any decals for these aircraft or any general Iraqi decals?
the only ones that i have seen are esci 1/72 sheet for the hunter/meteor. sorry i can’t be of more help. Greg
KP (Kopro) make a 1/72 scale kit of an Su-25K with Iraqi Air force decals as standard.
They also have an Iraqi Su-22 in their range as well.
These are Czech made kits, with raised surface detail and the plastic is one of the toughest I’ve ever worked with, but you should be able to make a reasonable replica from it.
Hope this helps,
Rob M.
Thanks for your help guys anyone else got any info Also looking for pics of Iraqi Su-25s so that I get any idea of what they look like.
I have a couple of pictures of a Mig 25 from the Iraqi Air Force after it was uncovered from underground.
Hi Panzeriv,
The instructions for the KP kit show a disruptive pattern upper surface in sand and dark brown (Humbrol colours 63 and 113 given). Underside is light blue (Humbrol 65 quoted). Fin tip is emerald green (Humbrol 19).
National markings carried in all 6 locations with an Iraqi flag on either side of the fin and a Bort number in arabic on both sides of the forward fuselage just below the cockpit.
There is a picture of an Iraqi Su-25 here:

Hey Folks;
well the Su- 22 & Su-25’s in Iraq where a general style with no major differences even their captured F-4’s from the Iran-Iraq War had the basic roundals & flag on the tails with the A/C #'s in Arabic on the noses that’s about it if you come accrossed any Iraqi markings then they should pretty much cross over to the next type of A/C without any problems, I should know I was there and have a bunch of pix of blown out Soviet type aircraft in Iraq even a few Dassult Mirages that’ll only see the recycling center before it’ll be airworthy again
Hobbycraft also makes an Su 25 with Iraqi decals. It was reasonably priced, and went together well. I built it before the first Gulf War, but I don’t know if it is still in production.
