I recently open up a couple of kits from the 80’s which had been sealed until now. Some of the decals have yellowed. Is there a way to restore these decals? I remember this question was raised in the FSM Q&A section recently but I have forgotten the answer.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I believe exposure to sunlight can help this-- but I may be remembering wrong…one of the masters here should help-- but I am 80% sure that letting the sun shine on it helps…
Tape it to a dry window that gets lots of sun. The sun is supposed to bleach out the yellow. Haven’ t had to try this myself, yet.

Takes a couple of days to a week.
It is best to place them in a zip lock bag and then tape to a window. You don’t want them to stick to the window if moisture should get to them. It does take about two or three weeks to completely bleach out the yellow.
