Just got some new decals from Greece and am wanting to remove ones that I already place on my M907 TOW.
What is best? I tried windex and alcohol but they seem stubborn.
Just get some Blu Tack. What I do is pull off a little blob of Blu Tack, roll it into a ball, and then just repeatedly dab at the decal I want to remove until it comes off. That way you don’t have to use liquids like Windex or alcohol which can both damage your paint.
Tape usually works great from removing decals, both wanted and unwanted. The tackier the tape, the better that it usually removes decals.
Carlos - thanks for the tip. I must have put a coat of Dullcote over them as the tape is not effective. Next I will try Goo-Gone, and then at last resort, paint off with lacquer thinner
…or you could try the Blu Tack. [whstl] The repeated dabbing with it will pull them off, even when there is dullcote or other clear coat over it.
Use scotch tape, but only on the decals. I will pull them, sealed or not.

Jake, I’ve had tape pull up decals that were already sealed with a top coat. It was quite unintentional. On purpose, it’s works better if you burnish the tape down, and as said above, scotch tape works better. At least in my experience.
I’d suggest using a wooden toothpick to scratch the decals off before trying goo gone or especially lacquer thinner. If your paint is a good brand, it should be able to withstand the toothpick.
