Has anyone built or knowns about the Dean Marine kits? Im thinking about building one,looks like they produce nice kits from whats shown on the different web sits. Any imput would be welcomed[?]

I built their 1:10 semi-kit of the DUKW, amphibious truck. I will not buy any more Deans Marine kits after building that one; I was not happy with the quality of some of the fiberglass work. The main deck was not a constant thicknes, but varied from 1/16" to 3/16", which required much putty and sanding to even out to 1/8". The full size plans looked like they were enlarged from the Squadron Signal Book on the DUKW. Some of the metal and resin castings were the wrong size for the model. Most of the parts printed on styrene sheet were the wrong size, usually too big.
Dean’s kits can vary in qualtiy - I have built three of them, bought another and ended up not building it because of quality issues. In general, I find their Royal Navy ships to be pretty nicely done, other nations less so.

Thanks for the input guys,after seeing some of the builds people have done its looks like produce a very good kit to start with,I recently finished a Dumas 1/20 scale PT and their fitting supplied were POOR . The fun part for me is working with all the different materials rather than just plastic…thanks again
