Dawn of the Jet Age GB

Nice start PJ.

Thanks guys. This Cutlass is pretty uncommon model as i haven’t seen one at any of the shows I have gone to. Fisher makes a 1/32 one that is pretty nice but pricey being all resin.

I strictly use the MM enamel line so I’m one of those that swear by it. I like using enamels cause I can thin them and dial down the air pressure and do some really fine mottling, something I can’t do with acrylics.

Your LHS should carry them or you can order from places like Sprue Bros. or Scale Hobbyist.

Great lookin start PJ

Thanks woody.

PJ,

My LHS’s paint variety really sucks. They lean more to car colors for the Lexan body of RC cars (REALLY big in the Boise area) than plastics, however I did find the MM colors I need on the internet and will get them before I start.

Thanks guys for the help.

I had a little build time and this is the result of my 1/72 Banshee.

I must say I liked it more in the box than what I see here.

There is basically NO detail in the wheel wells, the cockpit is very spartan, but I will just do it as a fun build.

The bottom of the wingroot fairings will need quite a bit of filler and sanding as the fit is rather poor :frowning:

I must say I do like the bold colorfull markings though

That’s great that you found the colors you were looking for.

I usually end up buying most on the internet as they have better selection and prices. I have two LHS that have kind of ok paint selection (and I don’t mean Hobby Lobby) which I can use most of the time if I need a certain color in a pinch.

I do like the look of her from that angle Theuns!

As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beerholder…

I should have some Panther decals on the way so I’m in with the 1/72 Matchbox Panther.

Good to hear that 68, which decals did you go for.

I actually found someone with leftover Decals from the Revell kit I think. Not sure what units were on the sheet or what he was sending but I’ll be building a Bluebird.

Well that was handy, look forward to seeing it. Its not an aircraft I am familiar with. I have decided I will be doing a Dragon 72nd Ar 234.

Me neither but I hope it turns out well.

Is too late to join in? If not I’ve got a He 162A-2 1/32 Revell that I’m getting ready to dive into and would like to sign up,thanks Trey

Theuns, as sparse as that Academy Banshee may be, it still seems ALOT better than the 1/48 Testors offering! 68GT, I doubt you’ll have mich trouble finding some nice decals for that Panther. Tray, that would be great! And the 1st 1/32 entry we have as well if I’m not mistaking. Bish, here is that artwork I was refering to in the PM.

EVERYONE, I will try my darndest to get the roster straightened out early this week! Fingers crossed.

Very cool Ajd3530!

And good to see some new faces with some excellent choices there!

Now that’s nice aj, i’ll see what I can come up with.

If possible, I’d like to throw my hat in the ring with Tamiya’s 48th Me 262 (not sure of scheme or markings yet) with some etch and resin added to it. I won’t get to crack at it until mid-October, when I return home from work, and at the moment I’ve only opened the box and tried not to drool over the resin and styrene (and instructions or decal sheets, drool will ruin those quickly). I plan to open up an engine an the radio bay, expose the guns and toss in some fabric seatbelts on a mash of resin, styrene and etch cockpit.
