D.520 finished...

Well, today is Mardi Gras and thanks to the state, I have the day off. So, I finished this puppy up. This is Tam’s 1/48 kit and is very well done, as usual. Extras are scratchbuilt seat belts, pitot tube and gun barrels. The finish is MM and Tamiya acrylics. The first reference pic is a plane of the Group de Chasse Doret of the free France. These planes were reclaimed from the Germans (who used them as advanced trainers) and put back into service, hence all the mottling. Comments always welcomed…

Andy

Nice looking bird… Don’t see many French aircraft from WW2… I especially like the mottling… Other than I think the shoulder harness straps are a bit too long, that’s a beautiful bird…

Wulf, that is a stunner for sure. A thousand ninja points for the obscure (But cool) subject. Those crazy frenchies with thier strange camo schemes. Great photography as well. Top marks.

…Guy

Looking pretty dang realistic. You’ve done that handsome fighter justice with that build.

Very nice, Andy! Nice unusual subject

Andy you win the prize for most interesting scheme for the month of February… so far anyway. Well done, it really looks great.

Nice build! It is good to see a French aircraft. I really like the finish. Looks great! [tup]

Well done Andy. Another one finished to your usual high standards. [tup]

Thanks for the kind words guys…

That’s a great looking build, outstanding work!

Nice one Andy. The mottle came out great.

HolyMoly Andy, very nice stuff! Why do you keep doing this to me? [4:-)]

This is a much better memory or Mardi Gras than getting blind drunk! I envy your time off! And your paint skills. Wow buddy, that mottle is so nice and clean looking. What did you use for the measles, MM or Tamiya?
