How do I go about doing this? Hacksaw and clamp? Maybe I should just plasma cut it?
It’s too thick for my razor saw or wire cutters.
Oh, btw I’m making a marble track for my Rube Goldberg machine.
I use a dremel tool with a cutting wheel. Clamp the wire in a suitable clamp and wearing safety glasses and I usually am behind a large magnifier cut the wire. The cutting wheels can be fragile, I have already been to doctor to have metal taken out of my eye so this is from experience.
You can also buy small bolt cutters. I like the dremel tool as you can shape the cut end of the wire.

You might try to search Dremel for the closest dealer. Dremel equivalent is handy tool. I also have a small drill/grinder that I got at a local electronic store. It is cheaper than Dremel but not as useful in the long run.
Walmart probably will have something as I see you shop there [(-D]
