Sometimes I need sanding sticks narrower than commercial sticks. Here is my solution

Both sticks are half of a closepin. The top one is a standard closepin, the bottom is a mini-closepin. I do not glue on the paper on the regular size- I can grasp the folded up edges. I do glue the mini one with a drop or two of CA.

I use plastic “T” section strip, usually with the sandpaper glued to it. The strip comes in many sizes, so is versatile.
