Ok Bud,I presume this is a 2 piece assembly?
Have you dry fitted it yet & if so, how do the edges line up?
You may try heating it in hot water & clamp it straight
while it cools.
Just to give my small add to this very nice discusion. XP-55 is one of three kanard built plane in the WW2. Very
interesting plane and pitty that I have no kit of this plane. To be honest I like to built resin kit even I have
several project relased in resin. This color profile is from the book in preparation [ US prototype fighters] and
hope you will found it interesting

From this I gather that the 2 pieces that make up the wheel well look alright & in the review some sanding is required for it to fit right

She’s really turning out. On a neat coincidence Air Classics is running an article on the Ascender in this month’s and next months issues. I like the plane but I’d want a smaller scale.

Ok Bud, just remember, resin is brittle so, easy on the pressure. Let the water get fairly hot &let it soak for a little while then clamp it to the table.
Might take a few times to get it to flatten out so, take your time.
