Crown kits

Just a quick question.

I have seen a Crown M60A1 what scale is it and most important is it close to reallity?

Doubtful. Without even knowing the brand, if it was a new or good M60A1, it would already be known to most modern armor modelers. Most likely, one of the Trumpeter knock-off M60A1 kits.

Well something like a training object for my older children to build if it is to bad. But it will stop att a affordable price of 89 SEK something close to 13 US$.

By the way, the box top seems to be something from a past time. The Swedish toy company which have placed a sticker on the Box is not selling plastic kits anymore.

OK, if it an older kit, I think I may have one and it is more like a toy than a serious model kit.

Well I have the URL there the Boxtop of the kit is.

By the way. Is the Academy kit of the M60A1 Passive/Rise an ok replica of the real thing. Does it include a turret without the extra armour on the the turret chins or is it with these mods?

The reason to my question is if it is possible to build an early example of the M60A1.

The Academy M60A1 is one of the better renditions of the USMC version, but I think it is a later turret with the chin armor. I think the only turret without the chin armor is the original Tamiya M60A1 kit.

I built some Crown tank kits when I was a kid way back in the early-mid 70’s. All of them I had was 1/48 (yes they were 1/48) and their standards were more toy like. If you look at the label at the lower right hand corner, it says FA-130 included, that is a electric motor. The standard of course cannot be compared to today Tamiya. But I still rremeber I built their 1/48 French AMX-13 (my first tank) which was one of a kind. There were many of these smaller manufacturers in Japan in 70’s.

Thanks!

Well I have seen one in the Local Hobby shop so maybe I will buy it.

Well Ok.

If it is a simple build I give it to one of the older kids here. Or maybe I just build it for fun by myself just to feel like 10 again. My own remembrance of 1/48 tank kits is then I was ten years old an built Tamiyas M60A2, well it was fun to build and play with it. But the noise was a kind of annoying to my parents because of the relative good resonance in the hull.
