Cross Reference Paint Chart

Hello everyone -

I was wondering if there was a chart the crossed referenced all the major vendors of paint? That showed the color to use if it called for a Model Master and you were using Tamiya. Or it called for Tamiya and you were using Vallejo. If anyone has insight to this it would be greatly appreciated for the information or direction for me to look.

Thank you for your time and help in this matter.

Check out Urban Fredrikkson’s color chart project at IPMS Stockholm

Don’t worry, it is in English

A similar project is at CyberModeler

An iPhone app such as iModelKit is a good pocket reference to use when you are standing in front of the paint rack trying to see what color options you have. Check the Apple Store (don’t know if it is Android).

There is an android app called Hobby Color Converter which I use and is good, covers most of the manufacturers

There are quite a large number of such charts on the web, though that Stockholm one is one of the best. Use google to search model paints conversion chart, or something like that.

I use www.paint4models.com.

Gentlemen -

Thank you so much for the great leads…I checked out each one recommended and all are what I am looking for. Thank you again. [Y][Y]

This one is handy as well. If you can get your hands on a used Pantone color book or fan it’s VERY hands since you can use the color chips to verify colors instead of relying on screen images.

Link no longer exist - at least that’s what it tells me when I copied and pasted the link you provided.

I just tried it and it still works:

I found this chart from Humbrol that includes many other manufacturers for colour conversions:
