I’ve discovered a really fantastic book for those of you interested in real space models.
Its titled “Creating Space” by Mat Irvive. I bought a copy from an Amazon dealer for about $13 delivered. Used but in new condition. Its pretty current having a copyright of 2003.
Its not a how to book but rather a history or compliation of model kits that are real space related.
Lots of memory jarring (for me) pictures. For me there were several “hey, I use to have that” moments.
Incidentially for the forum member asking about the V2 there is an entire section on various releases of this rocket.
I’ve had this book for a week and I’m already on my second read through.
I picked up Creating Space a couple of years ago - fantastic reference book! Make sure you also get Scale Spacecraft Modelling. I had the fortune of meeting Mat last year at iHobby Expo in Chicago. Really nice chap. We’ve traded a few emails about the two books and I’ve even written a review of them for Aerospace Modeler (hopefully out soon).

I do have a copy of Scale Spacecraft Modelling. Its a great companion book*.*
Now if I only had the time to practice the techniques examined in that book.
The Schiffer Pub Ltd books on Revell and Aurora are also nice. There is a Monogram one but I havent found it at the price point I want to pay. I regularly check Addall and Bestbookbuys but its consistantly close to $30 or more.
