Creating Miniature Landscapes

As I posted in another rmemebrs thread about being out of the hobby for many years, I had a thought or idea of trying to return to what I use to do back in the 80’s. Playing D&D was the rage at that time and could still be relevant today. But the small miniatures are too small for me to paint theses days. Either my hands can’t remain steady of my eye sight is getting worse.

Bu the other morning I had a vision of spiked rocks jutting our of a landscape, Not having any or my tools or left over parts I create this landscape using the puzzle foam pads and just glued them together with some left over 3M spray adhesive.

One thing I’ve excelled in is the method of photographing testing like this. I’m hoping to add a few more details to this single element. But I’ve been pulled away to another project which will really test my ability to mold & craft aluminum foil.

Welp, I’ve had to put this project along with another project on hold. I’ve switch my attention to a larger scale model… Say 1/1 yes… The real thing. I’ve been wanting this soft top for my Jeep wrangler for almost 2 years. Now that I have a chance to get the top, I’ve had to order a few more things to make this instigation complete. I guess this is one reason I got out of small scale modeling in the first place.

I haven’t given up on smaller scale models, in fact I’m searching for a 1/35 dog to go with a native American inspired diorama I’ve moved to the side table. If anyone has this unpainted dog from this kit:

1/35 Scale Here is Snickers!

1/35 Scale: “Here is Snickers” [US soldiers with muslim woman, childern & dog]

Please let me know. if not I may have to order this kit at a later date as I have a larger model to attend to. If I end up ordering this kit, I’ll place the figures for sale as I have no use for them. Just need the dog. Thx.

Oh that’s cool! How did I miss it when you first posted!?!

I don’t have that figure set but I may have a 1/35th dog around somewhere. Not sure the breed. Lemme look around.

Britains, you know the toy soldier company; has cast lots of dogs. Look on eBay.

@Gamera Thanks friend, But as I said I may end up ordering the kit. Not sure you missed the first post, prob cause the throw together is worthless or just not up to the modelrs standards around here. I hope to improve on that over time. it’s hard getting back into it after being out of it for so long.

@GMorrison true, and Yes I searched for dogs within this site. I’m drawn to the snickers kits because the dog seems to be more active instead of just standing there. Thought this dog has a bit more fur than I’d like it’s positioning is more desirable.

…And for the record… Don’t ever think larger scale projects doesn’t have model plans or directions either:
